Our Philosophy

At Broulee Long Day Care, we believe that:

Children learn and acquire new skills whilst having fun, through play-based learning which complements intentional teaching and enhances it.

Children have the autonomy to initiate activities and be self-directed with the support of educators, allowing them to foster a sense of agency.

Social skills play a vital role in children’s development, including sharing, turn taking and resolving conflict, which teachers actively help facilitate through modelling and creating opportunities for collaboration.

All children should be included and accommodations made to ensure their inclusion.  We recognise the importance of individualised learning, tailoring our approach to meet the diverse needs of each child.

Quality natural environments are supported by educators who are reflective in practice and engage in continual self-improvement.

At Broulee Long Day Care:

Children are cared for and learn in a safe and nurturing environment that is clean, well-resourced and provides opportunities for children to be creative.

Educators support children to Belong and feel connected with their peers and encourage them to Be their best selves.  Educational programs promote children’s development to help them Become confident in their developing identities.

Educators respect, value and form secure relationships with children and families and acknowledge families’ cultural diversities and respect traditional owners of the land.

Educators stay up to date with current research, best practices and emerging trends in early childhood education by engaging in professional development and training opportunities that will support the delivery of quality programs and learning opportunities.

Partnerships are built with the local community and schools in the vicinity to strengthen ties and promote a sense of belonging in children.
